CDL Driver/Operator/Laborer

Job Description

  • Work with highway striping crew to install paint, thermoplastic and other pavement marking materials.
  • Positions require both driving and labor (we do not offer “driver only” positions).
  • Follow directions of foreman and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform and complete work in compliance with DOT and quality guidelines, while maximizing production.
  • Drive company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms, and ensure equipment is in working order.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Prepare pavement for paint, tape, or thermoplastic.
  • Properly load material on trucks and trailers.
  • Lift, carry, load, and unload items including pavement marking supplies, signs, cones, stencils, etc.
  • Maintain proper safety equipment and PPE required for each job.
  • You will be trained to operate different types of equipment, including Paint and Thermo Trucks, Hand Striping Carts, Hand Grinder, Forklift, Tape and Glue Machines, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • 18 years of age and meet E-Verify requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license with a favorable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug screen. Regularly lift and move up to 50-100 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk; to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with arms and use hands and fingers; and push, pull, lift, or carry materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours (days/nights/weekends and overtime).
  • Must be willing to travel and work in our VA location (accommodation provided).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL (Class A or B)
  • Previous experience in pavement marking, highway construction, asphalt paving, flagging and/or Traffic Control experience is a plus!
